Investiture of the Gods

The Investiture of the Gods (封神演义) is a major 16th century Chinese novel attributed to Xu Zhonglin or Lu Xixing. Investiture of Gods combines folklore, fantasy, mythology, and historical events to create one of the most well-known gods and demon genre novels of the Ming Dynasty. The 100 chapter book follows the fantastical journey of Jian Ziya to overthrow the last Shang Dynasty ruler, Emperor Zhou.
