Immerse yourself in Chinese culture with our Chinese Immersion Summer Camps. With several cities across China, you're absolutely certain to find a camp to fit your specific interests and tastes. Our camps explore multiple aspects of Chinese culture, including Chinese history, cuisine, customs, literature, and more! All of our camps are led by native Chinese teachers and classes are taught by experts in Chinese culture.
Please be aware that the camp will be conducted in Chinese. A conversational understanding of Mandarin Chinese is strongly recommended.
Our camps, sponsored by provincial governments in China, provide a wonderful and immersive opportunity for everyone to experience the beauty of Chinese culture firsthand. Children as from 6 years and old are welcome to join.
Schedule
Every camp usually has the following activities for campers to participate in:
Opening Ceremony: Everyone is welcomed, and the teachers and assistants give warm thanks and explain the schedule and structure of the camp. Everyone gets to meet each other and designate themselves in their own hotel room. Later on, they can explore the hotel.
Talent Show: Campers are allowed to share their talents/hobbies and what they've learnt throughout the camp. Every talent show has their on Chinese dance performance, some sort of Chinese Reading performance, Martial Art performances, and other musical talents.
Chinese Dance: Campers are taught by special Chinese guests the beauty of Chinese dance. Outstanding campers have the opportunity to learn a full dance and perform for the camp. They are given Chinese clothes and accessories such as fans.
Chinese Arts & Crafts: Every camp introduces kids to certain arts & crafts, such as Chinese paper cutting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese pottery, Chinese songs, Chinese face-mask painting, etc. They can later present their achievements with each other as a bonding experience.
Chinese Dishes: Kids are taught to learn how to make certain Chinese dishes. Popular choices include but are not limited to dumplings. Afterwards, the campers eat what they've made - delicious!
Every camp has their own distinct activity that campers learn. Activities are always eye-catching and very fun!
Food
Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are provided to campers for free. Campers either eat at their camp building or exquisite restaurants and other terrific locations to eat authentic Chinese and western dishes. Sometimes the camp serves distinct cultural dishes local to the area, such as Peking Duck in Beijing.
Camp Locations
Beijing Camp (北京)
Campers tour the beautiful Beijing scenery and historical sites, learn and try Chinese arts such as Chinese dance, and learn about the rich culture of Beijing, the historic and current capital of China.
Henan Camp (河南)
Campers in the Henan Camp experience the wonders of ancient Chinese architecture and follow the movements of special martial artists. They visit various museums and sculptures.
Jiangxi Camps (江西)
There are multiple camps within the Jiangxi Province. One camp revolves around the visually distinctive Longhu Mountains, the supposed birthplace of Taoism. Students learn forms of Taoism and martial arts. Of course, campers tour locations around the mountain and explore its rich culture.
Another camp is located in the small Yushan within Jiangxi, near the Zhejiang Province. Not only do kids explore the natural landscape and interesting housings, they also learn calligraphy, paper cutting, and Chinese customs.
Towards the northeast of Jiangxi is Wuyuan, another beautiful natural landscape.
Yunn an Camps (云南)
The Yunnan Camp features several different camps. The Lijiang Camp allows students to visit Yushan Mountain and Changjiang. Kids learn pottery, martial arts, dance, singing, and many more cultural activities.
Kunming Camp allows kids to visit the interesting limestone formations in Yunnan, explore the neighboring ancient towns, and learn about martial arts, Chinese paper cutting, and face-painting in Chinese operas.
Shangri-la City (香格里拉) camp explores Tibetan culture and people. Campers explore ancient cities, mountains and other natural beauties, and the distinctive Tibetan dance.
Nanjing Camp (南京)
Nanjing is the capital of the Jiangsu Province and exhibits many wonders. Campers learn Chinese Martial arts, experience brilliant Chinese dance performance, and travel through the natural and manmade landscapes.
Nantong Camp (南通)
Nantong Camp allows students to experience Chinese dance & acrobatics, visit museums and historical sites, and venture into old attractions such as Dr. Sun Yat-sen's mausoleum. Students learn about the deep history of Nanjing, China. Additionally, students learn to make Chinese crafts through paper cutting, crafting with leaves, etc.
Fujian Camp (福建)
Fujian Camp is full of activities and sites to explore. Kids learn Chinese paper cutting, calligraphy, dance, etc. Especially in Xiamen, kids are able to experience the beautiful coastal cities.
Shanghai Camp (上海)
Unlike many of the other camps, Shanghai is full of modern attractions, such as beautifully modern museums and ancient buildings mixed with modern features. Kids learn about the dance, martial arts, Chinese paper cutting, and how to make XiaoLongBao. Students have the opportunity to traverse through water in bright big boats.
Shaanxi Camp (陕西)
Most attractions, such as the Terracotta Army (兵马俑) and other pieces Chinese architecture, are in the capital of Shaanxi, Xi'an.
Shandong Camp(山东)
The JiNan Camp explores the capital city of Shandong and teaches campers about the history behind the province. Students learn how to dance, make crafts, and do martial arts.
QingDao is a coastal city in Shandong that features great seafood and unique Western-Chinese architecture. Campers even get to visit robot centers! Campers are always amazed by the city's unique beauty.
Guangzhou (广州)
The camp within Jinan University of GuangZhou (暨南大学) is a very special area with terrific Chinese teaching programs. While learning different activities, campers also explore nearby Chinese attractions.
